Event Details

Come be Inspired on June 1st, 2011 at our Cornerstone event!

TEDxPrincetonLibrary.org

Building upon our success as the host site for TEDxNJLibraries in May  2010 and our amazing experience being a livestream site for TEDWomen in December 2010, the Princeton Public Library is proud to announce our first independent TEDx event under our new license: TEDxPrincetonLibrary.

We will be offering 3 optional free pre-TEDx exploration sessions at the library starting at 1 pm with every registration. The main event will begin at 3 pm at the Nassau Inn in the ballroom and will feature 10 inspirational speakers. Dinner and coffee breaks are included with the price of your registration.

Futher details on speakers, sponsors, team members and much more can be found by visiting the TEDxPrincetonLibrary site and by following us on Twitter and Facebook for announcements and updates.

Schedule:

12:30 pm  Registration opens in the lobby of the Princeton Public Library

1:00 pm  Optional Exploration Sessions (happening concurrently so you will need to select just one)

  • Cooking Demonstration in the Community Room with Chef Christopher Albrecht of Eno Terra. Christopher Albrecht will take his inspiration from seasonal offerings at the Princeton Farmer's Market and create some delectable dishes before your eyes.
  • Learn to Juggle with professional juggler Jen Slaw
  • Learn to Zentangle with Certified Zentangle Teacher  Rose Crawford (limit 12 partipants). Discover the new and creative art called Zentangle. In this introductory class you will experience the satisfaction of completing your own unique, finished piece of art and enjoy the meditative quality this wonderful art form has to offer. This class is for those who have no previous art training or drawing experience as well as experienced students who want to learn this specific technique. A starter kit is included.

2:30 pm   Registration opens at the Nassau Inn for those who did not attend an optional session

3:00 pm   TEDxPrincetonLibrary Session 1

4:15 pm  Coffee Break

4:45 pm   TEDxPrincetonLibrary Session 2

6:00 pm  Comfort Break

6:15 TEDxPrincetonLibrary Session 3

Once your registration has been processed via EventBrite you will receive an email from our TEDx team within a week with a short form to fill out so that we can plan for the optional session, create name tags, and plan meals accordingly.

Don't delay in your registration as we have just 100 tickets to sell per our license agreement. This event is non-profit and the ticket price is a contribution to help cover food and basic expenses. Without the generous support of our sponsors this event would not be possible.

Refunds will not be given after May 20th, 2011

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

At TEDxPrincetonLibrary, live speakers will spark deep discussion and connection. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
